Roberta Linfield
Artist Biography
Roberta Linfield is a stone carver working in soapstone and alabaster. Though she is mainly a carver she also is an acrylic painter and printmaker. She creates abstract pieces and her carving reflects that with large voids and lace like patterns.
She graduated with an associate degree in Fine Arts from Kwantlen College, Surrey, B.C. in 1983. She continues her schooling with college courses and workshops in a variety of mediums. She was accepted in l982 and 1983 to show in the Kwantlen College Juried Show held at the Surrey Art Gallery, B.C.
She regularly exhibits though The Centre For The Creative Arts in group theme shows. She has also had two solo shows at the Centre, The Begin Again was a monoprint show and Prismatic was an acrylic painting show. She has for three years been invited to participate as an artist in Art Squared. Her other shows have been, Set In Stone, a soapstone carving show with a small group of carvers as well as Morphing, another carving show with the same group of carvers. Outside of the Centre her exhibitions have been a group installation, On Beat, Off Beat, at the Montrose Cultural Centre, as well as having two works accepted to the International Biennial Mini Print Exhibition at The Contemporary Printmakers Center, Greenwich, Connecticut.
Roberta lives and works in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada.
